As a traditional country Inn at the heart of the local community they offer a wide range of drinks, cask ales and good food, using locally sourced ingredients - booking is advisable at the weekend and during the many local events.
For additional entertainment, we have a pool table together with a selection of classic pub games - from darts to dominoes! To experience the unique spirit of the Rose & Thistle Inn, in full swing, we suggest a visit during one of the many local events.
The annual, agricultural Border Shepherd Show (held on the second Saturday in October) is one of the best attended events in the area, with craft tents and pipe bands mixing with livestock displays and sheepdog trails.
The Rose & Thistle Inn provides a social hub for the village so, particularly on show nights, you might well be lucky enough to catch an impromptu performance by a local poet or musician!
